TLDR

React: I worked on my little game demo. If I can get it working with Dojo, I’ll dump it into my Kist public repo.

Weekly: I want to do these weekly recaps differently, but I’m unsure what that means.

  • Dojo - finally got a steady foundation to work with using the Dojo React example and editing dependencies ++ odds and ends in version land.
  • IRL - my air conditioner died, and I’ve had to reshuffle my work setup. (it’s scorching where I live - 2 months until parts come in.)
  • Infra - learned a few things and have some new toys tools (glass half full)
  • React - building out a game in React (It will be a POC to test some functionality I want in the lock pick game)

I broke my static site generator, Hugo, or I thought I had. It turns out you can just put a file in the wrong place and then ramp off to crazy town… that place where you uninstall everything and rebuild it all, only to realize the keys were in your pocket all along… I’m 100% having “a forgot the reading glasses were on top of your head” kind of day.

React game building is super enjoyable after struggling with Dojo early in the week. I’m contemplating staying in React and doing Node Guarding training with Cairo. I need to level up in Cairo.

I want to avoid worrying too much about challenges with onchain games, but I worked out some theories and potential pitfalls only to shelve them. One goal of Kist is to create a framework that pushes the boundaries of onchain development, and my job is not to solve all the issues but inspire others to join in this mission. I’m just leaving this as a placeholder to remember to stay out of the weeds.
